I GIOVANI IMPRENDITORI DELL'INDUSTRIA PRATESE   YOUNG INDUSTRIAL ENTREPRENEURS OF PRATO
La storia inizia nel 1965 con la costituzione del Gruppo Giovani Imprenditori quale organismo interno all'Unione Industriale Pratese ed aderente al sistema Confindustria (Comitato Nazionale Giovani Imprenditori).   Our history begins in 1965 with the founding of the Young Entrepreneurs Group as an organism within the Industrial Association of Prato, and its affiliation with the Italian Industrial Federation's National Council of Young Entrepreneurs.
Il Gruppo si caratterizza fin dall'inizio come un'associazione di giovani - imprenditori e figli di imprenditori - di età compresa fra i 18 ed i 40 anni, con finalità di formazione culturale e professionale.   The particular feature of the Group, from the time of its foundation, is that its members are all young - between 18 and 40 - and have their own businesses, or are the children of entrepreneurs.
Tutta l'attività è tesa infatti a promuovere l'inserimento dei giovani nella vita economica e sociale. In pratica la realizzazione di iniziative che favoriscono l'incontro, il confronto e lo scambio di esperienze tra i soci e con l'esterno: un approccio informale, amichevole e di apertura al nuovo che è proprio dei giovani.   The main purpose of the Group is to provide its members with cultural and professional training. All of its activities tend toward introducing young people to the local economic and social life by providing opportunities to meet, compare and exchange experiences with other members and the world outside: an informal, friendly, open approach to everything new, that is typical of young people.
Una parte importante dell'attività del gruppo è costituita dalla realizzazione di incontri, dibattiti e studi su problemi economici, politici e sociali che coinvolgono interlocutori provenienti da ambiti a volte anche lontani (o apparentemente lontani) dall'industria. Questo perchè è importante non solo promuovere la partecipazione e l'ingresso dei giovani nel mondo imprenditoriale ma, più in generale, nella società.   An important part of the activity of the group consists of organizing meetings, debates and studies on economic, political and social problems that can also involve experts from sectors that have (or appear to have) little to do with industry, because it is important for young people to be active and participate not only in the business world but, more in general, in society as a whole.
L'appartenenza al Gruppo è paragonabile ad un percorso verso la maturità professionale e verso una maggiore consapevolezza del ruolo sociale dell'imprenditore.   Membership in the group is an important step toward professional maturity and a broader awareness of the social role of the entrepreneur.
Sarebbe tuttavia riduttivo soffermarsi soltanto sull'aspetto educativo del Gruppo, dato che al suo interno convivono persone con esperienze molto diverse non tutti riconducibili a quelle del giovane studente da poco inserito nel mondo del lavoro. Molti infatti, ricoprono posizioni di responsabilità in azienda.  

But it should not be considered merely from its educational aspect: it is far more than that.

Among its members are people with a diversity of experience, not always as young students just starting their first job. Many, indeed, occupy positions of responsibility in their companies.
Il Gruppo esprime la volontà di intervenire su alcuni temi di particolare interesse. Questa volontà si traduce nella realizzazione di progetti, proposte ed iniziative concrete, attraverso gruppi di lavoro che uniscono interessi comuni.  

The Group expresses the common desire to participate in projects of particular interest.

These projects are developed by work groups of members that elaborate concrete proposals and initiatives.
Il Gruppo sta lavorando ad una serie di iniziative che vogliono essere un contributo concreto allo sviluppo ed al cambiamento di una città, di un sistema e delle persone che lo animano.   The Group is working on a series of initiatives that should make a significant contribution to progress and change in the city, the system and the people who operate in it.
